Letter from the National Technological University in Buenos Aires to the Authorities of the State University of Rio de Janeiro, November 18, 2011:

“For the last two years, in cooperation with the nonprofit organization Volunteers of the World, we at the Buenos Aires Regional campus of the National Technological University have provided classroom space free of charge for ‘active nonviolence’ training for teachers, administrators, students, and all citizens interested in building lasting environments of nonviolence and cooperation in institutions, communities, and individuals.

“This experience has been a very positive one, which we see as an important contribution that institutes of higher learning can make toward reversing the violent tendency that is growing as a ‘normal’ aspect of the current culture worldwide. For this reason we encourage all institutes of higher learning to open similar centers as a contribution to society.”
